Description
Photographic artwork by Cindy Treger. Photographed near Lake Meade, East Berlin, PA. This dazzling young male monarch, Danaus plexippus, was feeding on the flower of a purple butterfly bush. The young butterflies have a more pronounced beauty with a brighter coloring and no flaws on their wings.
I wrote "The Birth of a Monarch" a childrens' book using my own photographs capturing the amazing process of a Monarch, Danaus plexippus, emerging from its chrysalis, and becoming a full-grown butterfly. The book takes you through the monarch's life cycle and migration journey. It also encourages readers to plant milkweed, the only host plant of the monarch. Children, as well as adults, will find the monarch story fascinating! It is available thru Amazon.
