Photographic artwork by Cindy Treger. Photographed at Laurel Lake at the Pine Grove Furnace State Park. At the Pine Grove Furnace State Park, located in the Michaux State Forest in PA, there is a trail called "Pole Steeple Vista," that overlooks the Park. A small portion of Laurel Lake is seen in the distance in this photo. At the top of the .75 mile trail is a huge quartzite rock outcropping. The Michaux State Forest covers 85,500 acres in the South Mountain area covering three counties - Adams, Franklin and Cumberland. The State Forest was named after the French botanist, Andre Michaux, who named many of the plants in the 18th century. The trail is not long, but it is steep, and worth every drop of sweat to get to the top.
My home near East Berlin in Pennsylvania is the inspiration for my love of photography. The yard with its many bedding areas, filled with a variety of flowers, attracts up to sixty-seven different kinds of birds. A pair of bald eagles have even been spotted. I maintain five bird baths in warm weather and one throughout the winter months. Butterflies bring constant activity, in the summer months, especially at the coneflowers and butterfly bushes. God's beauty is everywhere! I'm thankful for my talents and the opportunities to see and capture His beauty in flowers, birds, and butterflies, and for my children, Stacey and Jason, for giving me my first digital camera for Christmas in 2011. Psalm 75:1 We will praise thee, O God, we will...

Amazing place! Looks like Pinnacle Mountain in Arkansas! That is a huge climb that I'm not sure I could do anymore! 1100 feet, almost straight up on one side and a meandering wonky step up on the other side. Great work! FAV!

Great spot isn't it? I hiked up many years ago with my German Shepherd thankfully pulling me most of the time. The only situation where I was glad to have her pulling. :) LF Nice shot!
