Description
Photographic artwork by Cindy Treger. Photographed at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. The American Alligator, Alligator mississippiensis, thrive in the swamps, rivers and lakes in NC and TX. Some species are hunted because of their over population. The adults have approximately 80 teeth. Another name for them is Mississippi Lizard. This gator was enjoying some sunshine, and resides at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo, in the state of MD, along with many others that people donated after finding out that you don't want an alligator for a pet!

Never trust an alligator smile. It only means they are planning something. ;o) Fabulous capture Cindy.

Excellent photography and processing! I can hardly believe that there are people out there stupid enough to think that alligators make good pets! Congratulations on your sale!
